Isa Maruyo Koi Farm is located in the Ojiya region and is owned by Isa Kazuhiko. They breed many varieties such as Kohaku, Sanke and Showa, but they are perhaps most well known Ki Utsuri, which they began to breed in 2001. Ki Utsuri was the first Utsurimono variety dating back to the early 1900’s, but their popularity declined as the Shiro and Hi Utsuri varieties became more sought after. At one point they were impossible to find, but Isa decided to concentrate on breeding quality Ki Utsuri and has brought them back from the brink of obscurity.
