I was lucky enough to be involved in an internship with the Toronto Zoo and the National Museums of Kenya as part of the Lake Victoria Species Survival Program. I travelled with Cindy Lee, Curator of Fishes at the Toronto Zoo and spent a few days in Nairobi, but stayed about 5 weeks in Kisumu, Kenya, which is located on the shores of Lake Victoria.
As part of the Species Survival Program, we lugged many large bags filled with pond supplies (pond liner, solar pond pumps etc.) from Toronto to Kisumu to help construct 2 display pond exhibits to house endangered fish species from Lake Victoria.
