100 Watt Thermo-Pond 3.0 Pond De-Icer

Thermo-Pond 3.0 pond heaters / de-icers float on the surface of your pond, keeping a hole through the ice all winter long. Very energy efficient, the Thermo-Pond 3.0 heater uses only 100 watts of electricity. Other units can use as much as 1500 watts. That means huge savings on your electric bill!

Thermo-Pond heaters are thermostatically controlled to turn on when the water temperature falls below approximately 4 degrees C so they won't warm your pond. Unlike some other heaters, Thermo-Pond will never burn a pond liner or plastic pond. It naturally allows the pond to ice over while maintaining a hole through the ice. Allowing gas exchange that can help keep a healthier environment during the winter months

Thermo-Pond 3.0 are designed for ponds up to 1000 gallons, use an additional Thermo-Pond for each additional 1000 gallons of water or use in together with a pond aerator.

Features:

  • Thermo Pond De-Icer HeaterMaintains a hole in pond ice fr just pennies a day
  • Can save up to $30 to $50 a month in electricity compared to "stock tank" style heaters. Pays for itself in two months!
  • Thermostatically controlled
  • Completely safe when used with a pond liner
  • Fish friendly - assists the escape of toxic gases all winter long to help maintain a toxic-free environment for fish living under the ice.
  • Tested at temperatures of 30° below zero Fahrenheit.
  • One-year limited warranty

Installation:

Simply float the Thermo-Pond over the deepest part of the pond and plug it in. The unit will not become warm unless the pond water is cold enough (near freezing) to trigger the thermostat.

  • If there is a thin layer of ice on your pond, you can place the Thermo-Pond on top of the ice, plug it in and let it melt through.
  • If there is more than 2" of ice on your pond, use hot water to melt a hole in the ice, then place the Thermo-Pond in the hole and plug it in.
  • When the temperatures drop, ice will typically form right up to the outside edge of the Thermo-Pond de-icer. This is normal
  • After a heavy snowfall, the Thermo-Pond will often be covered with snow. Periodically check your heater and remove any snow that has accumulated above it.
