Barley Straw Bales - Treats a 2000 gallon pond for up to 6 months

Barley Straw Bales - 2 pack

Natural algae control for you pond! Barley Bales utilize natural enzymes and byproducts to help control both string algae and single cell algae (green water) problems throughout the season. When placed in an area of the pond where there is steady water flow the barley bales will slowly degrade, as they break down, they go to work, inhibiting algae growth keeping your pond clean all season long.

Features:

  • Each Barley Bale treats 1000 gallons
  • Simply place at the side of the pond (can also be used inside skimmers and waterfall filters).
  • Tap into the natural degrading power of barley to help create a clear pond.
  • Lasts up to 6 months

When To Apply Barley Bales:

For best results, place Barley Bales in the pond in the spring before algae is established and continue using all season long. Apply when pH levels are between 6.5 and 9.0

How To Apply Barley Bales:

  • Calculate the volume of your pond and determine how many bales are required to treat it.
  • Place bale on the surface of the pond, preferable near a waterfall or filter outlet. They can also be placed in pond skimmer or waterfall filters. Do not let bales sink to the bottom of the pond. If bale sinks, remove it from the pond for 24 hours, then place it back in the pond.
  • Allow 1 month for barley bales to become effective.
  • Replace each bale after 6 months of use. For continuous treatment, after 5 months, place a new bale next to the old one. Then remove the oldest one at the 6 month mark
