Swans Feeding Koi?

In this video of swans feeding koi, it appears that the swans are really being kind to the koi by taking food from the container at the side of the pond and putting the pellets in the pond for the koi to eat. Although this seems to be a very sweet gesture on the swans part, there is more going on here than just kind-hearted swans. These black swans are taking food and dipping their beaks in the water, however it isn’t too feed the koi. Swans need to moisten the pellets to help them swallow and digest the food and as they do this, a few pellets inadvertently slip out of their beaks. Of course, koi aren’t going to pass up on a free meal, so they eagerly await any food that escapes the swans.
