The Sakura Awards represent together with the Botan and Tsubaki Awards the Major Awards for the non Go-Sanke varieties. The Sakura awards represent Goshiki, Kawarigoi, Ginrin A, Ginrin B and Kujaku. Because of the strong entries with Goshiki, it is difficult for other varieties to win, but this time it is a nice balance with other varieties as well. What a beautiful Koi again on the 2013 All Japan Show! Enjoy!
I am personally really impressed by the Goshiki that won Best Sakura and Best in Variety Goshiki. It is bred by a hobbyist, not a breeder! Unfortunately I do not know the name of this person. And what about the 65 Bu Sakura winner? What a crazy nice Beni for a Goshiki! It’s flawless! Also the 60 Bu Sakura Goshiki really attracts me. I really like the ‘white’ parts around the Beni, the nice pattern and the fluent body shape. Don’t forget about the nice Kujaku as well. I really like the style of the 70 Bu Kujaku, with a superb Matsuba-mon (pattern). And last, but not least, the 12 Bu Ochiba Shigure! What a cute and perfect looking Ochiba! I really like this small teddy bear. Enjoy the beauty of the 2013 Sakura Awards!
